Comprehensive therapies aimed at growth and independence.

Occupational Therapy – OT

A child's main occupation is to play, grow and learn. Our goal at the Cozy Nest is to improve a child's quality of life and functional performance by evaluating developmental skills and implementing individualized treatment plans. Therapy sessions are conducted with compassion and fun to increase child involvement and positive outcomes

Our occupational therapists specialize in the evaluation and treatment of a child's overall health and well-being including physical, psychological, social, and environmental factors. Therapists collaborate with the child's team to achieve sustainable outcomes across environments. This team may include parents and/or caregivers, other therapy providers, teachers, medical providers, and community support services. One-on-one therapy, social groups, hippotherapy, and/or aquatic therapy are utilized as appropriate.

Nutrition

As nature would have it, breastfeeding is the ideal way to meet a baby's nutritional needs. However, for new as well as experienced mothers, breastfeeding can sometimes come with challenges. For over two decades, The Cozy Nest has been helping parents by offering professional consultation and real life advice in a safe and welcoming environment. No question is off limits -- we're here for you!

Nutrition Services at The Cozy Nest family includes a Registered Dietitian, a Certified Lactation Counselor, as well as those trained in postpartum mood disorders. Best of all, most of us are moms ourselves and understand the unique struggles that can occur in infancy and childhood. We are trained to assist with the various challenges of breastfeeding by building the skills of both mother and baby. When breastfeeding is not an option, a dietitian will recommend appropriate alternatives to ensure that baby is meeting his or her nutritional needs for optimal growth and development.

The Cozy Nest works with moms, dads, and other caregivers and counsels young children for continued growth and independence. Our purpose is to work with our clients to find the best solution for all involved.

  • Clinic visits, phone visits, and occasional home visits are available
  • Postpartum support: assessment and guidance
  • Lactation counseling: correct latch and positioning to address nipple soreness, engorgement, and milk supply issues
